Sharon Camarillo is excited to once again be a part of the Carmel Del Mar team. Ms. Camarillo has been an educator in Del Mar Union School District since beginning her teaching career at CDM in 2014. She left CDM in 2022 to become a Teacher on Special Assignment for our Instructional Services Department, where she was able to support our community on a districtwide scale. She is incredibly proud to be rejoining the Dragon family as Assistant Principal for the 2026-2027 school year. 

Ms. Camarillo is proud to be a San Diego native (fourth generation on her mother’s side!). She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from San Diego State University and spent several years working in the broadcast news industry before pursuing her career in education, earning a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from Florida Atlantic University. She has lived in South Carolina, Florida and Minnesota. 

Ms. Camarillo strives to foster connection and belonging so that all students and adults can thrive in their school environment. She enjoys connecting with and learning alongside people and considers it a joy and privilege to serve students who are in the early years of their educational journeys. 

Ms. Camarillo and her husband have three daughters who are in 8th, 6th and 3rd grade this school year. They also have two dogs who keep them very active and fulfilled.
